With funding from the Prince Edward, Lennox and Addington Community Futures Development Corporation, ELORIN is working on a project to promote the production of agricultural biomass for energy in Lennox and Addington County.

We see great potential for agricultural biomass to be grown and sold in this region as an environmentally friendly home-heating option, as pellets and a value-add crop for farmers.

We are currently investigating several crops and technologies that would provide the best model for local farmers to maximize profits and minimize risk.

We are holding an Engagement Workshop in L&A on January 15th which will feature local retailers and producers.   We will build the final report based, in part, on the questions, concerns and recommendations of those who attend.  Anyone interested in learning more about pellets, crops and technologies is encouraged to attend.
