About Us

Developing the bio-economy, building regional prosperity.

ELORIN (The Eastern Lake Ontario Regional Innovation Network) is a group of regional champions actively supporting bio-business development. Our network is the hub of regional bio-business activity, which aims to influence the success of regional bio-based firms and acts as a catalyst in accelerating the commercialization of research discoveries within the Eastern Lake Ontario region.

ELORIN organizes a number of popular events and educational series across Eastern Ontario.

The ELORIN Breakfast Series is a regional networking forum intended to promote innovation and bio-based development in Eastern Lake Ontario by bringing together a diverse audience of business leaders, academics, investors, students, citizens, and government.  Click here for our 2009-2010 Schedule.

The ELORIN Seminar Series was launched in September 2006 to complement our successful Breakfast Series.  It serves as a public arena to promote education and exchange of ideas on a diverse range of subjects.  Click here for more information.

The ELORIN Annual Conference began in 2002 as the Biofibres Industry Day and has grown into a much-anticipated event focused on sustainability and innovation in Eastern Ontario.  For details of this year's conference: Sustainable Building and Design on August 12 & 13, click here.
